I enjoyed this article from The Guardian’s website because of the interesting facts that it reveals. Dissecting a recent report issued by The Inquiry into the Future for Lifelong Learning (IFLL), it relates that the IFLL recommends splitting the population into 4 key groups for education purposes: 18-25, 25-50, 50-75, and 75+.
 
One little gem of a statistic is that ‘…by 2020 we will see the number of people under 25 fall by 9% and the numbers in the "fourth stage" rise by 28%.’ Another interesting fact is that ‘…15% of the population aged 65-69 still economically active.’
 
So, whilst we are all focusing on how longevity is impacting upon retirement provision perhaps we’re guilty of not thinking enough about what we’re going to do with ourselves when we’re actually retired! See:
