Inflation falls to lowest on record
|
Inflation, measured by the Retail Price Index (RPI), is now officially at an all time low since records began in 1948. Meanwhile the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the Government’s preferred measure of inflation, has fallen below the inflation target of 2% for the first time since September 2007. See:
Elsewhere, news focuses upon DWP’s latest consultation document, Building a Society for all ages. Within the document is the announcement that the Government is to bring forward a review of the Default Retirement Age, currently set at 65. The review will proceed next year, earlier than originally planned. The DWP has set up a section on its website dedicated to the consultation and it is well worth a visit. See:
