Is this the perfect time to be investing more into pensions?

It's pension woes all across the news sheets lately, with the focus on increasing deficits, poor performance indicators and lack-lustre stock markets. According to a report on Reuters, one index measurement of world stocks reveals a loss ‘…of another 6.4 percent last week, with the index down 21 percent so far this year, falling in 8 out of 10 weeks and hovering close to a 14-year low.’
That’s not good news for people whose pensions are invested in equities from around the globe. The article highlights the plight of investment returns and quotes Joost van Leenders, investment specialist at Fortis Investments who says,
"If you take a very long-term perspective, equity prices have brought you nothing over the past 12 years and dividends were the only thing but dividends are now being cut..."
However, dour the situation appears, reading the report reminded me of a quote from Warren Buffett: 'Most people get interested in stocks and shares when everyone else is. The time to get interested is when no one else is. You can't buy what is popular and do well.' See:
