Occupational Pension Scheme Annual Report (ONS) - Oct '09

There are a few surprises in the Office for National Statistics’s Occupational Pension Schemes Annual Report, published today. Even though the data reflects what happened during 2008, the number of active members of defined benefit schemes in the private sector remained roughly the same. And, I was genuinely surprised at the number of active members of private sector defined contribution schemes. Much lower than I would have guessed.
