Redundancy - Spouse's death benefits
As an active member of your pension scheme, there may be the added benefit of a spouse’s pension payable in the event of your death.
When you are made redundant, it’s likely you will become a preserved member of you scheme. What will happen to your spouse’s pension?
It’s possible that the amount of spouse’s pension payable may change – and sometimes that change can be dramatic. It is essential that you investigate whether a spouse’s pension is available and whether and how it changes when you become a preserved member.
