Redundancy - Who receives death benefits?
Whether redundancy is welcomed or not, it is essential that you have a clear understanding of what is happening to your pension benefit and of any offers which are being made to you which may affect your pension entitlement.
If you are changing from an active member to a preserved member, it is essential that you understand that the people qualified to be your dependants in order to receive benefits on your death, may change. This is crucial as the change is likely to take place at the date you cease to be an active member.
