Table of female State Pension Age (updated)

State Pension Age is being equalised at age 65 for men and women. The change is being phased-in over a period from 6^th April 2010. In the Chancellor's Spending Review on 20th October 2010, an increase in the pace of the rise in State Pension Age for women was announced. A subsequent amendment was announced on 13th October 2011. The proposals now mean that (subject to becoming law):

Women born before 6^th April 1950 are not affected by the change.
Women born between 6^th April 1950 and 5^th April 1953 will have a State Pension Age which gradually rises from 60 to 65.
Women born between 6^th April 1953 and 5th April 1954 will have a State Pension Age between 65 and 66.
Women born between 6^th April 1954 and 5th April 1968 will have a State Pension Age of 66.
Women born between 6th April 1968 and 5th April 1978 will have a State Pension Age between 66 and 67.
Women born after 6th April 1978 will have a State Pension Age of 68.

The table below shows the previous dates when a woman would have reached State Pension Age of 65.

Before the Spending Review, State Pension Age was proposed to increase for men and women to age 66 from 2024, 67 by 2034 and 68 from 2044. Each rise would have been phased in over two years.

Prior to (i) the Spending Review of 20th October 2010 and (ii) the amendments proposed on 13th October 2011, female State Pension Age was set to be:
