Who wants to be a Trustee?

I’m not, and never have been a trustee of a pension fund. I have however met many people who are and I have the greatest admiration for them all but particularly those who have little experience of trusteeship but who offer themselves up for the role.
According to a report conducted by the University of East Anglia, intellectual challenge was a top driver for wanting to be a trustee followed by the desire to represent the scheme members.
The article adds, ‘The next three main motivational categories centred on welfare, fairness and a moral obligation and this became clearer when one individual outlined how they became a trustee.’ Fascinating. See:
