Hope someone can help, I find this all somewhat confusing.

I'm not even sure I'm in the right forum.

In 1990 I opted out of Serps and went with Allied Dunbar, which eventually passed to Zurich.  I reached 65 in 2014, but didn't stop work then.  However, I'm easing up now and wrote to Zurich to claim the pension.  It's fair to say it's underperformed and pays a miserable amount each month.

However, am I able to claim the Basic State Pension for the contributions paid up to the point that I opted out?  If so, how is it done?
