Quite often, a journalist will write a deliberately controversial article with a view to provoking a response. This article precisely fits that bill.
Phillip Inman is a business reporter and the deputy editor of Guardian Money. In this feature he points the finger of blame for the banking crisis at pension funds and argues that it is they who, in endeavouring to secure ever-higher returns, have forced the banks into riskier business strategies.
